Miller Matola has more than 10 years of management experience within global travel, tourism, hospitality, investment, trade and marketing and communications environments.
His experience ranges across the spectrum of leadership, teaching, consulting, project management, marketing and communications, reputation management, to strategic planning and management.
Uniquely, he possesses unprecedented knowledge and networks amongst global decision makers in Tourism, Trade, Investment and Development, both in business and government. Miller has served as Portfolio Manager: Americas & UK for South African Tourism, CEO of Tourism KwaZulu Natal, CEO of the International Convention Centre Durban and until 2015, as CEO of Brand South Africa.
Miller has served on the following Boards as independent non-executive director: Ezemvelo-KZN Wildlife (EKZNW), Board of Management of the Durban Chamber of Commerce and Industry, the Southern African Association for the Conference Industry’s (SAACI – KZN Chapter), Exhibition and Events Association of Southern Africa (EXSA) and the International Hotel School, Brand South Africa and South African Tourism.
In 2007 and 2011, Miller was the recipient of the Black Business Executive Circle/ABSA Kaelo Award; an award to honour and acknowledge the milestone achievements of black business professionals in South Africa.
At present, Miller is Founder and CEO of Millvest (Pty) Ltd, a diversified investment and advisory company focusing on the tourism, hospitality, energy, business events and energy sectors. He is also Director of African Exposium, owners of the agribusiness conference and exhibition platform, Agri-Confex.
