Tinus Janse van Rensburg joined Cisco in March 2016 , in his role he is responsible to build and support Cisco Cyber Security strategy into Africa, he was previously appointed as Cisco Global Service provider Account Manager, responsible for providing advice, consultation services, sales strategies and gearing up Service provider customers with Cisco “end-to-end security” capabilities. Tinus is a senior expert in the ICT industry with over 18 years’ experience in Africa covering countries such as South Africa, Nigeria, Ethiopia, Namibia, Ghana, Botswana, Mauritius, Kenya, Lesotho, and Egypt.
Before Cisco, Tinus was a Systems Engineering Manager at Fortinet sub-Saharan Africa looking after its Africa business. He also spent five years as the General Manager and Operations Manager for Information Security at Altech Namitech where he led the strategy for the company’s Information Security and Managed Services offering by ensuring effective roadmap development and operational excellence internally and externally to shareholders, partners, suppliers, analysts, stakeholders and media.
Tinus also has years of experience in Security Operational Management, Security Engineering, PABX Engineering, Networking, Cisco Security Technologies, Mobility, Cloud Architectures, Managed Services and Core IT services for multiple Clients such as FNB, ABSA, Liberty, Momentum, Liquid Telecom, SafariCom, Telkom Kenya, Cell C, MTN, Internet Solutions, Netcare , Life Health group VOX, SITA, Department of Defence and Neotel to name a few.
Tinus enjoy spending time on the water or in the bush, fishing , game viewing and camping with his wife Linda and children Belinda and Alexander and friends.
